The Fluidrive Story

FluidriveŽ today is one of Australia's most experienced, respected and successful specialists in the service and repair of automatic transmissions.

How we started

Our success is due to the vision of the founder, Joe Shneider who as far back as the 1950's recognised that automatic transmissions would become an increasingly popular fitment to motor vehicles.

He was among the very first in Australia to undertake specialised training in automatic transmission repair and service and in 1963 opened the first FluidriveŽ Service Centre in Victoria St., Richmond.

Our Secret of Success

One of the main reasons we have grown and prospered is our old fashioned philosophy that the Customer comes first. If you give good, honest service at a reasonable price, people will keep coming back. Today, over 50% of our retail business is from referrals.

Automatic Transmissions have become increasingly more complex with computers, more gears and electronic controls. We make a point of keeping right up to date with the latest technical developments, and we train our people accordingly.

Even among the automotive industry's senior representative bodies, the FluidriveŽ name is known and respected. The V.A.C.C. (Victorian Automobile Chamber of Commerce) has accepted FluidriveŽ Service Centres as an accredited specialist.

Present & Future

FluidriveŽ Today...

FluidriveŽ has a top reputation for quality, service and fair dealing. We constantly update our business methods to make sure we stay ahead.

Research and Development

FluidriveŽ Service Centre staff regularly attend important conferences and events to keep abreast of new technology and management techniques. With the aid of the Internet, we are able to source up to the minute technical information from our contacts around the world to ensure we can accurately diagnose and fix your transmission as quickly as possible.

Future

As technology continues to advance, automatic transmissions are becoming more complex and sophisticated. This means that more and more vehicle owners require the expertise of recognised specialist transmission repairers who employ rigorous quality standards to assure the reliability of these complex systems.

In response to these technological advances, FluidriveŽ took steps in 1994 to ensure that it would stay ahead of the competition. A dedicated Transmission Rebuild Centre was established to ensure that the FluidriveŽ Service Centres had access to a supply of quality transmissions that were built to a standard that exceeded the Australian Standard AS3564.1-1988 & AS3564.3-1990.

The Rebuild Centre also collates the latest technical information, upgrades, specifications and fixes and is also responsible for technical training to keep the FluidriveŽ Service Centres at the forefront of the industry.
